Chapter 7 Why Did God Allow Us to Commit Sin in the World of Angels?

Is there somebody who asks a question why God has allowed the angels to commit sin? You may ask, “Isn’t God omniscient and omnipotent? Then, why didn’t He created angels as the finished?” The apostle Paul gave us the answer of this question as follows;

【Rom. 9:21-24】 「Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use? What if God, choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath–prepared for destruction? What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory– even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles?」

If all the angels had been created perfectly and equally, they would have been nothing more than ignorant animals and inanimate objects as like stones or soil, without knowing God’s glory, power, joy and satisfaction, in spite of the world of angels.

So, as Paul said, He made humble pottery and the noble pottery together, and made the vessel of destruction to make His power known. And He made the humble vessel and the precious vessel together so that He intended to make the riches of His glory known through the precious vessel. God made humble vessel to make the glory of the precious vessel of salvation known. Oh how hard His work to save us is! We have to think about this matter very seriously.

By the way, what is the reason that the angels are expelled from heaven whenever they sin? The Scripture said that God sent the angels to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for judgement, when they sinned,(2 Pet. 2:4) and that Morning star, son of the dawn, was expelled into this earth,(Isa. 14:4-15) and that the guardian cherub who had worked among the fiery stones was cast to the ground,(Ezek. 28:12-19) and that the great dragon, the devil or Stan, was hurled to the earth.(Rev. 12:7-9)

It is a fact that this earth is the prison of angels who has sinned in heaven. In order to further our study on the matter of the spirit, let’s examine the city of refuge in Moses’ law, because it is a prophecy showing the matter of the spirit.
